MLB Flagship Store NYC Case Study

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Legends was retained by Major League Baseball (MLB) to lead design and construction as well as operate their first flagship retail store in the United States. The store offers a wide assortment of officially licensed products for fans. Products available at the MLB Flagship Store come from a full range of MLB licensees and highlight all 30 MLB clubs in addition to historic franchises in the Cooperstown Collection and authenticated game-used memorabilia. The store also offers unique New York City products along with customization options.

The buildout included a feature stair, specialty lighting, AV and digital multimedia elements along with custom millwork and other on-brand features.

RESULT

LPD leveraged Manhattan and sports-branded flagship retail experience to deliver the project in a very tight budget by careful cost and design management while focusing on revenue maximization and brand authenticity.  Considered one of the toughest cities in the world to build; and opening during the COVID-19 pandemic (after a mandatory work shut down) was a testament to a great team effort working with our client and collaborating with our design consultants and contractor.
